maybe we are the ones we have been waiting for

We work our asses off from day to night [those of us who still have jobs]. We pay our taxes. We drive to work on highways and across bridges that are built and maintained (sometimes, when the GOP will release funds to pay for such things) by those taxes.  We talk to each other on phone lines that are taxed; we access the internet on a server that taxes us; we watch TV sent to us by a service that taxes us; when we travel we fly on airplanes that tax us and stay in hotels that charge tax.  People who live in 48 of the 50 states in the Union pay sales tax on the things they consume.  We pay a “tax” to the government every payday so that when we retire – if we ever live so long – we can collect a mere smidgeon of what we have paid into this system in the form of Social Security [another thing the repiglickins want to steal from us].  We also pay a tax into a medical insurance policy that is supposed to care for us in our old age and another tax that is supposed to insure that we will get a teeny-tiny “paycheck” from the government in the event we lose our job.  These things are not fucking "entitlements". WE ARE THE 99% THAT PAY FOR ALL THIS STUFF.

I am not disputing these taxes – nothing is FREE and that is just fine.  We of the 99% pay into this system.  But do we of the 99% really benefit from it?  Are we of the 99% even a PART of it?

The answer is a resounding NO.

We are the drones, the drudges, the menials. Our ‘agenda’ is always dictated from above, and our social ‘truths’ are all formulated in the think tanks of the rich. The elite mass media – bought and paid for by the wealthy - thinks of the masses as nothing more than pieces of dough, to be kneaded and kneaded until the message is clear.

Thus, we the people, the 99%, have been rendered as nothing more than a reflexive, reactive audience. We, the generation of a-political children, have been stuffed in movie theatres so that we may have Mr. Spielberg dream on our behalf.

We have lost touch with the truth; we have been lied to so many times that we can no longer tell the difference between turds and chocolate. We shelter ourselves inside our manufactured personas and try to escape through video screens. We are given shit on a stick, and because the wealthy who own the media tell us it is candy, we eat it with relish.

No, we are not part of the System. In fact, the system deliberately chooses to ignore us when it cannot explicitly formulate our psyche. The system bullies us, the system crushes our self-esteem. When we rise, they call us hooligans. When we protest, they label us as trouble makers. When we cover our faces with towels to escape the pepper spray, we are arrested.

We are not part of this System.  The dream is not our dream. Our manufactured consumer reality is no reality at all. We are ghosts within the industrial machine, our voices are nothing more than allusions to a primal voice that can exist in this culture no more.

We are no longer part of any System; we are merely the oil used to lubricate; the cheap labor used to increase profitability; the beasts of burden used to lug around the riches of the wealthy and the vanities of the ‘famous’.

BUT maybe - at long last -  we are the ones we have been waiting for

  2. And those at the top are not shy in their endeavors, but they sure are sneaky! They use phrases from the Bible...words from the Bible cannot be bad, the Bible tells you so! The CURRENT word is DOMINION! Those at the top want DOMINION over the multitudes....that's us...the 99%!
